This is why we can't have nice things.

So it totally still counts as Wednesday, especially if you take into account time zones, which you totally should. Those people out west have to wait so much longer to get to the end of the day! Poor people. Anyway, I did decide that I would talk about why TV and movie adaptations of books never work. So here we go. Or something. I will have a LOT of examples here. Some of these are stories and movies I've seen all the way through, and some are either book series I have not finished, TV shows I couldn't sit through for more than an episode or two, or the Avatar the Last Airbender movie, which I watched fifteen minutes of before quitting. I also have not seen the new TMNT movie because I have STANDARDS and a childhood I actually enjoyed and don't want to ruin. Let me set the stage for you. It was June 4th, 2004. Ten...years ago. Geez. Anyway, it was lined up to be a great night for me. I got the opportunity to sit in the pit of a performance of Les Miserables becaus...

Book Lover

Lately, I have been really into paranormal romance novels. Adult paranormal romance novels. It started with Witches of East End (because the TV show made me want to read the book. Protip: Skip the show and just read the books), which rolled into the Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong (I only have seen the first two and a half episodes of the show Bitten but I can already tell you to again skip the show and read the books) and then I moved onto the Outlander series because it's been on my "to read" list for a few months after it had been recommended by a good family friend and that also somehow managed to fit into this weird little niche I had suddenly found myself. I guess it's not all that surprising. When I was a naive teenager I found an appeal in Twilight and later True Blood (both relatively brief affairs I assure you) and more recently I became a sort of casual fan of the show Lost Girl . What can I say? I love fantasy and I have a grand total...

A sort of explanation.

I feel like I need to briefly explain what will probably be going down this month as I get started on this blog. So although I am a few days late, I am doing this thing called a "30 Day to do." The idea came from a good friend of mine who got it from this video here . Basically you come up with 30 things you want to do in the month of September, do them, and write about it. So I'm going to be doing that. Some of the things I have I might not talk about because they're personal, but I'll probably keep track of which ones I do just by going "Oh I got #14 and #20 done today" or whatever. BUT one of the things I have on my list is to write a little every day, so it all just sort of works together. Yay me! See, I really want to do something with my life. I currently live with my parents and my parents are moving from North Carolina to Kansas....next week (holy crap one more week) so I recently left my job and have to start planning what I want to do when ...

First Post

So this is another attempt at blogging for me. I feel like this is something I should be good at enjoy doing, but somehow I have never really given it a chance. Much like many things in my life, I have had almost zero follow through on my previous blogging attempts. How will this be different, you may be wondering? No idea except that I’m really serious about it this time. No really. No, it’s not going to be like all the other times I said I was going to do something and then never did it again. I mean it. I really do! For serious. Ahem. Anyway. Basic introduction thing in case people read this who aren't my friends or family: My name is Rebekah and this is (or will be) my blog where I panic about my life and other various things.
